Neo Group releases a report featuring assessment of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) adoption across select IT & Business Service Providers in a first of its kind ESG Adoption Survey in collaboration with IAOP and GSA-UK.

The survey was conducted across some key players in the industry that serve global markets to study the nature and extent of their ESG adoption and Sustainability transformation programmes. The survey focused on:

  • The scope and scale of ESG initiatives
  • Executive sponsorship and “tone at the top”: the extent to which their Boards supported investments in ESG initiatives
  • Organization around ESG (centralised vs. federated vs. decentralised) and the executive leadership level at which programmes were being driven on an operational basis
  • Vision and strategies for developing competencies, products and services around ESG that could help their customers
  • Extent to which core values and foundational principles of sustainability were embedded in their organizational culture and attitude in dealing with stakeholders

Hemant Puthli, Partner, Neo Group says, “The findings from our survey were quite interesting. We were not really surprised to find that almost all the service providers we surveyed were in advanced stages of implementing ESG initiatives – they had very high scores on the operational-performative criteria. But what we did not expect was that even among many leading providers, the cultural and attitudinal shift to sustainability thinking was not clearly visible.”

Neo clients have been vocal in seeking our point of view on the nature and extent of ESG adoption by global IT & Business Service Providers (ITBSPs) in the questions posed to our advisors.

“ESG is indicative of an organization’s desire to do good and be a responsible contributor to the betterment of society. To encourage enterprises to do more, the Neo Group team created this ESG survey. The results present a snapshot of the participants’ ESG journey to celebrate their accomplishments and benchmark against others.” said Atul Vashistha, Chairman of Neo Group.
